IAAP Membership ... Your Route to a Successful Career

Employers only want the very best staff on their team… IAAP membership gives you that coveted seal of approval, telling employers that you are at the very top of your profession.

Several levels of membership are open to you depending on your qualifications. So long as you have passed an IAB/IAAP qualification – or equivalent qualification recognised by the IAAP – then you are entitled to join.

The starter level of membership is an IAAP Associate Member, with IAAP Fellow being the highest and most prestigious level of all.


To achieve Fellow status – symbolising your proven expertise and experience – you must have achieved the following IAB/IAAP qualifications or equivalent exams as listed below:

IAAP accredited Qualification

Sufficient subject passes in the professional exams of ACCA and CIMA at 2nd level

Relevant, recognised bachelors degree in accounting and or finance

ICB (South Africa) National Diploma Financial Accounting NQF 6


To be registered as an IAAP Member, you need one of the following qualifications as a minimum condition:

IAB Level 4 Diploma in Accounting to International Standards

ACCA Certified Accounting Technician

CIMA Business Accounting

Accounting Technicians of AAT, HKAAT and Sri Lanka (Level 4)

LCCI Level 4 Certificates and Diplomas in Accounting

ICB (South Africa) National Diploma Technical Financial

Accounting NQF 5

IAAP Associate - AIAAP

Entitling you to use AIAAP after your name, you can join as an Associate member if you hold – as minimum – one of the following IAB qualifications, or equivalent from other awarding bodies:

AAT Level 3 (intermediate)

Level 3 Certificates and Diplomas in Accounting of the LCCI

City and Guilds and OCR

ICB (South Africa) FETC Bookkeeping NQF Level 4

Open University Certificate in Accounting

IAB Level 3 Diploma in Accounting and Advanced Book- keeping
